I feel like im going bonkers ...again.
DS has just turned 4. He has language delay, mild asd (verbal dx by paed), but no formal dx yet, we are supposed to be seen by camhs in about 3 months re: asd dx assesment.

DS had always had (noticed it when he was about 2) some 'odd' movement manerisms at times (mainly when stressed, very excited or upset) such as hand/fingers fast twirling motion, a bit of flapping when having a bad tantrum (this in the last 6 months only).
DS has alsways made lots of noises, especially in the last year, we have humming, whisling/screeching like noise, low grunting, and for the last two months quick loud grunting/throat clearing noise this every day, sometimes almost constant for a few hours, then a bit les, then lots more,... it has gradually got worse in the last 2-3weeks.
(Paed noticed it at last review and mentioned asd vocal stims).

For the past 2-3 days DS has started blinking! ...
Not much atm, only now and then a spur of several fast eye blinking.
But still i'm now starting to worry about Tourettes'syndrome as i have read that throat clearing and blinking were both early indicators of Tourettes.
Please could anyone tell me that i'm probably over-reacting...and that it is only just another fairly common asd stim.

My DS is 4 and has just had verbal dx of mild asd by his paed.
He has had the blinking thing, also had a humming one and a repeat everything he says twice thing!
He has been clearing his throat hundreds of times every day for about a year now, more when he is concentrating or stressed.
His paed says its an ASD thing if that helps?

I've noticed your name on posts before and our DS's sound very similar in general actually!

Thanks allaboutme.
Yes it helps to hear that these things are indeed asd related.
Paed also said to us, humming and throat noises were frequent asd vocal stims. She never said anything about blinking, but that's because the blinking was not really evident 10 days ago, he literally has started that a couple of days ago.
And i'm driving myself nuts over yet just another stim i expect... as usual!

I have noticed your posts too.
