Got the report/minutes back from a 'review' (TAC meeting???) and cant believe how the words were twisted!
EG:
"she [the SALT] explained that X has good understanding [err actually no he doesnt] and comprehension but she is aware that X tends to follow his own agenda [yes, he IS autistic], frequently CHOOSING not to comply with instructions..." OMG CHOOOSING????? it continues "His mum agreed that X did not comply with instructions!"
I did say that, in conjunction with the words "cos he doesnt understand what you want from him", I have heard them ramble on and on at him, given half the chance i'd wonder off too!
And also in his defence, why on earth would you want to "put the train in the bucket" when you are playing nicely with it and enjoying it?
"He will play alongside his peers, mimicking and vocalising"
He sooooooo does not! Mimicking only takes place if he goes out of his way to copy them - not by playing with the same range of toys!
In answer to my request that he be given more 1:1 hours (and TBH it should state SOME hours!)
"Mrs P states that all staff in the faoundation unit are aware of X and his TOTAL INCLUSION was down to their dedication and the ethos of the school."
TOTAL INCLUSION??? F*@- All inclusion!!!
Im sure many of you are aware of just how little school time he was even allowed. 2 plays the F1/2 kids have done and not one ounce of inclusion so far. Hes never in literacy/numeracy groups as he wanders too much.
It talks of only 8 sessions, and it was in fact 13 at the time of the meeting.
They are "reluctant to give more intensive 1:1 as it will interfere with socialisation and turn taking skills" utter utter rubbish.
WHY SO MANY UTTER LIES?
do i dipute this report? or will it be pointless? will it aid statementing in any way to dispute/not dispute?
so angry cant think straight.
