dd2 had some apple slices after tea. she is not supposed to bring them inot the sitting room, but she has

she is also playing with some animal dominoes, and trying to involve dd1, who is trying to watch her favourite dvd, but is very patiently putting up with dd2 being, quite frankly, a pest.

every so often, dd2 brings over one of the dominoes for me to identify the animal, leaving her apple unguarded next to dd1.

dd1 has been warned (by dd2, at full volume ) not to touch her apple...

so, I was telling dd2 all about the rainbow coloured dog (wtf?) on the domino, when I hear the unmistakable sound of apple being munched. so I turned round, to see dd1 sit upright suddenly, and grin.

a few minutes later, the same thing happens.

I look round again, and see dd1 leaning over and taking bites out of the apple, without picking it up, and crucially for dd1, without actually saying what she is doing.

dd2 is none the wiser , and, for the sake of my eardrums, i hope it remains that way
