Autism, Early Intervention and Government Lobbying Campaign....calling all parents!

Hi there
I am an independent autism consultant and early intervention specialist working with families across the UK. I am also currently studying for my PhD specialising in Autism and Early Intervention. I have recently begun the process of setting up a lobbying group to lobby the government on policy development in the field of autism and early years- starting with Scotland then hopefully taking on the rest of the UK. There is currently no post diagnosis support for families, no uniformity of approach to either diagnosis or access to services and no policy or access to quality assured, targetted early intervention for children with Autism or related disorders.
As part of our lobbying campaign I am hoping to collect as much evidence and as many stories as possible from families who have had experiences of the current system. I am also setting up a formal post diagnosis and early intervention service based in Scotland (but covering the UK as a whole) with an autism specific specialist nursery based in Edinburgh.
I would be really interested to hear from anyone who would like to be involved in this at any level- whether you would like to contribute a story, join our lobbying group, join our yahoo group or have a specific interest in the nursery then please get in touch- [email protected]
best wishes
Ruth

Not at all! It means I am "bumping" this back to the top of the forum for you by writing "bump".
That way it won't disappear and get lost amongst all the other threads!
