i am trying to put together some information on ds1. I have read some of you describing your dc as passive. Ds1 is the opposite: if he is not happy with something he soon lets you know and if there is something he want he finds a way of letting you know. He has speech delay and ?asd.
The only word i can think of it active but that implies he just runs about(which he does anyway)
Enough waffle can someone more eloquent find me a word for this please!!

Interactive? Though that does make it sound as if he lights up and plays a tune when you press a button.

he does that too but not a button - if we see a star we get twinkle twinkle and as its raining now we do incey wincey spider.

opinionated?

Ha ds used to be described as persistant ( ie nothing on earth could distract him)!

I think proactive is great for describing him here, but too positve for DLA ? LEa etc

therabouts I would go with single minded, or my persoanlfave [I can't remember where I saw it) uni-directional focus.

sodit · 13/11/2009 12:16

what i am trying to say is that he doesnt let things pass him by.Like today i was hovering he want me to stop so he signed finished i said no mummy will finish soon. Then couple minutes later he was waving and squeaking at me i thought he was on at me to stop again but then he started signing his brothers name and he was trying to pull the hoover plug out. Ds1 knew it was wrong so he was doing something about it.He tells me what to do as well like when I go out he checks i have my glasses and keys, when we are in the car he signs to start the car points at the gears and handbrrake and tells me which way to go.
I would describe him as single minded when he wants something but i dont know how to describe him the rest of the time.
oh its just for his new nursery not dla or anything.
