grrrrr i told school this would happen ! help with a statement please

last year ds as trouble writing but other wise bright he ASPERGER, anyway found out due to sats results ds as dropped low down in english , he is a very good reader but since back at school they not changed his book so i asked why? guess what they say ds dont understand what he reads ( he does) i asked how do they know this well he can not put down on paper and he wont tell us ! so i explained its his aspergers thats the problem not him. so i am finely going to try get a statement as now as i said it would be come a problem.

am i right in trying?

yes you are, get a bloody statement. most schools are useless and dont have a clue what they are talking about. they are not experts

Yes, go for a Statement and apply for it personally asap. You need to write to the Chief Education Officer at your LEA and give them six weeks to reply.

Have a look at IPSEA's website; there are model letters you can use.
