Sleep deprived EEG

Just wondered if anyone has had a child have one of these?

My DD's language and speech have really gone downhill quite alarmingly in the last few weeks. As she is quite old for an autistic regression and it's ONLY her speech which has regressed she is to have one of these to check for epilepsy/Landau Kleffner Syndrome.

It doesn't sound like much fun

Phew, that's it over.

Didn't manage to keep her up until midnight as she passed out at 10.45, but she woke at 1.45 and then I got her up at 4.45, so she was v tired and fell asleep for the test.

She actually enjoyed staying up late and playing/going outside.

Now got to wait 2 weeks for the results.

Does anyone know why the EEG machine beeps? we are trying to work it out, it was probably just that she'd gone to sleep or something!!

Am going to bump this just once in hope that someone knows why the machine beeped.

It's probably just that she pulled an electrode off or something but we are just a bit curious about it. It only did it once.

Thanks

Just realised I posted for advice on this and never updated.

Got the results..they were normal but DD didn't go into deep sleep so they can't say 100% she is clear.

However since her speech seems to be returning they are just going to keep an eye on her and repeat if necessary.

It's all very strange, her speech is still nowhere near as clear as before but her communication/understanding and interaction have really improved.

Thanks to everyone who advised.
