Please tell me about those wieght without warmth blankets for autistic children

Apologies if this gets asked over and over - there must be heaps of threads but I can remember what I am asking about

Sooooooo those weight without warmth blankets to help autistic people feel secure and comforted..........

Where can I get one from?
All reccomendations welcome!

What size to get etc - ds a is 135cm tall 8yo

hi, my OT gave me a loan of one to try out for my DD asd, it was great at helping her get over to sleep and stopped the balnkets falling off. i think that the 5lb one is the lightest and feels quite heavy my dd is a big 5yo. they cost about £95 to buy so if you have an OT you should get a loan before you fork out that much money- hope this was some help.

W2GB is owned by my sister,and obviously I'm going to big her up and say that her products are the best,however,there are posters on this site who have bought her products,and will also vouch for the quality.Advice is freely given,and I know she'll be available tomorrow after about 10am.At the end of the day it will cost you the price of a phone call to find out what it's all about.

i got mine from TFH - i have found that once they are on - and thats a feat in itself - then they are very useful in calming the child down. I would go larger than smaller so that you can really wrap them up and we have also used it to calm him at night.

No OT round here so loans are out of the question ....

Missmarples - I havent heard of TFH Ill check them out

they do change their catalogue quite regularly so not sure they sell them still - there are a few on ebay as well. you can also get vests for sensory input if that helps.

Cheers for that link missmarples - I am currently looking at all sorts of things that might be useful for ds (hoping to choose just one in the end though as not cheap!)

And weight2go for the blanket - ds likes the planets and stars pattern
