It'll be me and Nick Ferrari at 8.45am on 1st June, so tune in, if not in London there's the internet or Sky TV.

Why do I do these things to myself, feel so nervous!

Well done! Don't know why you were nervous - it was Nick who got in a muddle with names and he's the professional!!

MandM · 01/06/2005 10:45

Oh, wish I'd read this earlier. Did it go well? Is it likely to be repeated do you know?

Thomcat · 01/06/2005 11:43

Hi Tabs, so did you hear it? Hope I came across okay, it was weird, no idea what it was like from a listeners point of view but thank God I didn't stutter of make a huge mistake or anything!
It was a bit rushed from my POV, a lot to get into 5 mins but hopefully it was ok.

You came across really well. I have no personal experience of Downs, but have reached the decision not to have any testing for it, as I wouldn't terminate whatever the result. It was good to hear that it actually doesn't have to be a big thing if the baby does have it.

Did you know that Charlotte had it before she was born?

georginars · 01/06/2005 12:05

Oh, wish I'd heard it - I always listen to LBC but not usually Nick Ferrari as he makes me too cross!
There is a 'best of Nick Ferrari' programme on Sundays, maybe you'll be on that?

Thomcat · 01/06/2005 12:19

oh thanks tabs, and no I didn't know, didn't have tests and not having them this time round either.

By phone, it was only 5 minutes but it it was okay.

I had an email back from Jeremy Vine on Radio 2 today and he was lovley, it was a really nice email. Helped I'm sure by the fact I name dropped, I am related to someone who was a v important person there! Anyway he's passing my email to his producer and said he'd be in touch.

Thomcat, I'm not a regular poster here but wanted to say that I heard you this morning and thought you came across very well. Clear, confident and definitely got your point across and raised awareness. It certainly educated me somewhat. Shame it was radio, I would have loved to have seen your daughter too.

Thomcat · 01/06/2005 13:09

Thank you very much
