Hi, has anyone got a ds or dd with SN who has rapid transit gut/functional diarrhoea? My DS is nearly 7 and has this problem. We want to start toilet training him and the gastroenterologist has suggested medicating with loperamide - has anyone had any bad experiences or their dc suffered side effects?

thats just Immodium isnt it?

no experience as ds has the opposite problem and takes Domperidone and Sodium Picosulfate to speed his bowels up but anytime ive had a dodgy tummy its worked a treat!
just need to get the dose right so it doesnt have the opposite effect and bungs him up!

Have tried it for a 7 y-o with nornally sluggish bowels which went into overdrive after prolonged antibiotics, but didn't work for her. Sorry not a lot of help.
