Went to Afasic meeting tonight and as the current chairwoman wants to stand down they want me to take on her role!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I said I'd think about it but they said as I am running the support group at dd's SAL unit I would be idea. So probably will, but how scary is that????
Also found the meeting quite depressing. Some of there children are 16 and things like getting a Saturday job seem impossible. I keep telling myself that I will worry about that in 10 years time when dd is 16!
Very reassuring was that one lad who is 14 has a girlfriend and another who has similar difficulties to dd (I saw him tonight but have seen him before) is doing so, so well. It's very re-assuring although know I have a very rocky road ahead. It's just so nice talking to people that understand
