Is it possible that dd is allergic to omega 3/6???

It's just that the 3 times we gace her eye q she went loopy. Now since being on flax seed (which she is refusing point blank to take anymore so it's probably a good thing) I have noticed simialr but milder behaviour.
I really don't think dd benefits from taking it at all. What do you think?

More likely that she is allergic to fish - aren't EyeQ fish oils?

wwb - no the flax seed is pure organic fish oil. tastes lovely, not

EyeQ is quite well known for this and its supposed to be the Evening Primrose Oil that can cause it. Heard of this happening quite a lot.

Just a thought, BH, but my DS is very sensitive to amines (chemical caused by breakdown of proteins, so tinned fish, mature cheese, well-hung (oo-er) beef etc are all very high) and fish oils are full of these. Also flaxseed oil is a concentrated source of salicylates, which my DS is also sensitive to. Are the oils in capsules? Gelatine in capsules can contain sulphite residues which very sensitive people might respond too - my DS has problems with dried fruit as well, so suspect he may be sulphite sensitive, but to be honest prefer just to avoid it rather than test it! The diet I have my DS on sounds loopy as it restricts fruit and veg (most of which are high in salicylates), but honestly he is so much better for it.
Sometimes though I drive myself mad wondering what's due to food and what's a cold coming on, or overtiredness, or a bad day at school. Now I know that so much is due to food I can never rule it out, but there are so many (insert preferred choice of expletive here)variables.
Your post (some time last year) about your DD's response to Calpol was the first I replied to on Mumsnet, because your daughter's reaction sounded just like my son's. So I've been following your story with great interest, support and sympathy...

Hi, my son went loopy on eyeQ too (but was ok on efalex). He doesn't normally show these sorts of sensitivities so it came as a big shock! I did post on here at the time and got a lot of replies from people who had seen the same reaction in their children.

How about flaxseed though as I have now stopped it. Dd just seemed so weird on it that I thought what is the point???
