I have just seen this posted on money saving expert forums. If someone in your family is recieving DLA you can claim a free energy monitor and standby saver from british gas, you dont have to be a british gas customer, have just applied for ours and thought i would share

sorry should add the code you put it on first page is EF3 - the e and f must be capitals or it doesnt work! and of benefits dotn tick the tax credits box as can only tick one and only one relevant is the dla! Hope other people can use this too i think it looks fab!

What's the benefits reference number? do they mean the NI number? I can't be bothered to hunt around and see if I have any dla letters to see if there are any other ref numbers on them unless i really have to!!

its on our bank statements says dla pk..... then the amount - maybe try there?? i ordered mine then posted link on here, others have got thers but i havent yet

If you do get your energy from british gas and your household gets DLA, dont forget you can ask to be put on the 'essentials' tariff, which is cheaper.
