DS1 was playing rough and tumble the other day.....J was watching from the bedroom window.

He marched downstairs and headed for the garden. DS1 was "play fighting" with his buddie and J pounced on the visitor and beat the living daylights out of him....it took two of us to get him off the other child!!!!!

The visitor was pretty badly beaten....black eye and a cut lip. J can not understand what he has done wrong....he thought his brother was being hurt so he protected him.

We have tried social stories etc.....but still J can not get to grips with the fact that what he did was wrong.

Any advice or suggestions are more than welcome....infact they are needed bloody desperatly!!!!!

no idea. what about wrestlign with all the acting? would he understand they are 'acting' rather than hurting each other? sorry if thats a useless suggestion.

Thats a hard one and not easy to explain to the parents of DS1 either. You just can't be around 24/7 counteracting their every move. You must be having really mixed feelings. I would just re-enforce that he really hurt him (scratches etc) and to come and tell you and you would tell him off next time. Sorry can't be much help
