what does this sound like - fit? fainting? hypo?

happened a few times now - dd gets v excited, is somewhere she really really loves. One minute is showing all of this, next she is slumped over as though asleep, eyes rolling. She looks very pale but not blue. Her breathing is fine.

Cos of her metabolic issues I generally give her some glucose via gastro and that brings her round. However, bm readings are usually ok (I know they are not too reliable at lower levels though)

Another time this has happened she has had oxygen and that has bought her round

Every time about 10 mins afterwards she is completely fine. Like nothing odd had ever happened

she has probs with her heart rate (goes brachy and trachy), is under investigation for seizures (waiting for 48 hr eeg) and generally has loads of issues. She's under that many specialists now they're all looking at their 'bit' But big picture getting a bit cloudy. What obvious things can be triggered by being really happy / over excited / over stimulated?

Two possibilities, but a bit 'out there' are

Vasovagal episode

or

Cataplexy/Narcolepsy

both v plausible - and infinitely preferable to fitting or hypo (the eye roll-y business is what makes me suspect fit. However I would expect her to be not quite so chipper when she comes round)

and guess with both of those 'loss of tone' in a child with v low muscle tone to start with could result in rolling eyes

incedently, she had another of these turns at school today. She'd done a poo before (she does have vaious bowel probs / constipation) One time I called an ambulance whilst she was doing similar (arms were going blue / eyes rolling / moaning oddly -all whilst doing a poo)

will put it to her paed when he's back off holiday

My son has had several fits over the past year. He is now 6 and has Autism and ADHD.

I have now stopped calling an ambulance as literally as soon as i have paniced and called the ambulance he is running around and playing. The last time the ambulance men came into his bedroom my son thought they were there to play star wars!!

He had an EEG which came back abnormal and very disorganised, but we still do not know what is causing the fits.

He goes very stiff during them and makes noises like a horse and eyes role back. Then he goes all limp and moans if I try and wake him up or put the light on. 5 mins later he is fine. These only seem to happen at night. The outcome of the EEG just stated they were a form of seizure.

Constipation/straining can cause a vasovagal because the vagal nerve runs close by the bowel area.

Have tried to get hold of her paed but he is on hols. She is due to have 48 hr mobile eeg so that is surely going to pick anything up.

But all these episodes characteric of vasovagal also. Guess will have better idea after eeg
