I just phoned CAHMS because we still havent heard when our next appointment is going to be, and in the assessment the doctor said it would be early July. Well guess what, what a flipping shock, there is no such request for an appointment in the system. The doctor is not in today he is supposed to call me tomorrow to explain & sort it as they dont know what is going on. What luck we have had! It is hard not to get a major complex!

Oh no, I'm sorry you're having a tough time. I don't really know what to say, except give the doctor a b***ing when you eventually get to speak to him!!

I think I deserve some sort of medal for most unrequested appointments on the NHS.

DS3 was dx'd in December finally, though they dx'd and changed their minds a wonderful total of 3 times beforehand!!!!!

How long do you think it took to get the letter which they swear has been issued several times (biot nobvody has received)

Yes, I got it 2 days ago!

So SS (and therefore summer scheme full), LEA, school, DLA all denying I'd had the DX.

Fortunately is dated February, so only two missing months PMSL

Have been trying to organise OT for my DS1 on the NHS for months....school asked me to look into it which I did, I then got a call from OT to say we were already on their waiting list and I have just called them to find out whats happening to be told they have no record of a referral !!!!!!!!

I called a private OT who wants to charge me £395 just for the inital assessment. It's ridiculous.

Are these people deliberately trying to make our lives more difficult than they already are ???!!!!

sometimes I do think it is deliberate. The whole thing has been a farce. There should be for all intents and purposes an almost one stop shop. There should not be months and months of waiting between each tiny little move. It is madness. Then of course they judge you for not handling it perfectly if you ever slip up!

hereidrawtheline I'm sorry that there has been another cock up! Do you have any support available to you? You sound like you are under alot of pressure from your posts and without family/friends to let off steam to, these things can drag you down.

I have done quite a bit of informal post natal support work in my time, and I just wanted to say that getting extra support in terms of counselling or similar is not an admission of guilt or fault. Neither does it mean you are depressed or that there is anything 'wrong' with you.

I hope you won't be offended by the suggestion. I can just feel the stress coming from your posts and I know that it can really help to have someone entirely objective to turn to and share your feelings/worries safely and confidentially.

I think I am actually better than I sound if that makes sense. Although I am looking into counselling. I just do have a really deep seated mistrust of those in the NHS. Which is sad and ironic because my DH works for them in a business capacity! And I know, I know there are millions of brilliant people trying to do good. But I just dont like it. I dont feel I can go anywhere for body or mind without being judged as a human being.

Avoid the NHS then for yourself. See someone who will understand what it's like to be an unsupported mum. There are plenty of good people out there and no decent therapist will judge you. I think you might find it really helps. It sounds as if you really need a safe space to get all this out and recharge your batteries. You are being ground down and it is very easy to lose perspective in such circumstances. I am not saying you are but that it can happen
