I know this sounds pathetic but

I have no idea how I going to get DS to nursery from this Friday til next as my Dad, who usually drives him, is going away. I have considered every possibility and cant see it working- me and Ds2 (10 weeks)would have to hang round for an 2 1/2 hours whilst Ds is at nursery we are not allowed to stay in the school and there is nothing mearby and I am Bfing DS2. Even taking them on the bus would be anightmare. Ds1 is a runner so would have to take push chair. dp cant do it as its bang in the middle of DPs working day and he works quite far. I dont want to take him out of nursery for such a pathertic reason as he loves it so much but I am lost as to what to do.

Thats a hard one, I dont have any advice but I do hope you get something sorted. Do you have anyone else who could give you a lift?

No, I cant think of anyone who doesnt work.

I was in the same prediciment the beginning of the year. Was a logistic nightmare. DS3 was about the same age as your DS2, and my DS2 a runner. We had to get a certain bus, as otherwise would be late. Would have to fold the pram down as not a lo-liner. We have finally managed to get it right, but was hard to start with.

How much would a taxi be?

Do you know any of the other parents at the nursery, and would any of them be willing to at least pick him up or drop him off for you?

Ds is the only one who doesnt get transport - even though we live the furthest away . I f it was just a case of dropping him off or picking him up we could manage I'm sure but not both ways. I wouldn't have anywhere to go with Ds2 to feed him during that time.

Is it a council-run nursery or a private one?

do you know why he doesn't get transport? Sounds like it's worth pushing for again?

If you can't get him there then it's not the end of the world. Perhaps if you have evidence of him not going due to transport problems it will help with your case. Short -term pain for long term gain?

I already appealed the decision and was still turned down. I hear it was more of a funding issue than a question of entitlement. He will be moving to a school after summer anyway which is further away actually so we will have to put in a request for transport there. Now if they dont grant that one it will be ridiculous- school is 8 miles away.

Im so lucky that my dad has been available and willing to take him so far.
