need to find a way to make dd1's window safe in this heat

does anyone know what I can do?

it is boiling hot in the dds' room, and set to get hotter next week. the window in there is one where the top half opens, iyswim. dd1 likes to sit/stand on windowsill to look out/sing as she goes to sleep.

what products are there that wuold let me leave her window open for coolness, but safe so she can't fall out? dd1 is tal enough to be able to lean over the top of the closed bit - she hasn't yet (on downstairs windows in the day time) but that isn't good enough for me. (can't lock window open at a decent opening - dd1 would be able to open it further jsut by leaning on it)

is there a window equivalent of stair gates?

we have struggled to make DSs window safe so instead have opted for a fan ceiling light, DS cant touch it and it cools the room nicely.

I had the same issue, but if you put "window locks" and the type of your window into google, there are loads of sites on line where you can buy locks. It is going to be 31 in London tomorrow!!! My DS is asolutely manic, don't know if it's the heat or not but I WANT HIM TO GO TO SLEEP!!!!

We also opted for a ceiling fan and it is a fixed part of DD's routine. Whether rain or shine, winter or summer, she insists on the fan.
