Carers' Allowance - Xmas 08 Bonus

I just wanted to tell everyone to MAKE SURE you have had the CA Xmas bonus. I checked because I'd had a reminder in an email newsletter and they HADN'T paid me!! DS got his DLA bonus but I didn't get my CA one and I'd never have known. I got it today, just in time for Xmas......not! Just phone them, don't bother looking in bank accounts etc, let them do the work. I hope this helps someone get the £70 I got today.

It was £10 before christmas and then £60 in March/April time. Same amount I think.

You mean 2 lots of £70? I'm sure we didn't get that - will check.

I miss out by 1 week DD started getting it on 29/12/08, and qualifying week was 22/12/08.

I'm sure the CA Xmas bonus is £70 as I got it separately and with a letter saying so. I don't get fuel allowance so it can't be that and DLA bonus is always paid to DS technically. Just phone them and ask if you're not sure, they're very nice.

The vqrious reoprts identified the £60 as both christmas bonus and fuel: same money though

I got mine I am certain when the bys DLA ones were paid in, it came as a £180 payment, the £10 annual bonus was separate

Davros there was a one off fuel payment for all children on middle or higheer DLA awarded in the November budget last year, but buried under masses of other things in the news
