Well ds2 2.11 has his second paed appointmet tomorrow and all the reports are in. I am really nervous about it. On one hand I want them to give the ASD dx but on the other I don't. So confusing. I know the ed phsyc has agreed he has ASD and the paed has too but I dont know about the SALT and I know that we can only get a dx with all three agreeing.
His traits are defo getting more obvious, he has the most terrible high pitched scream and is getting really violent, laughing when he does it.

It must be a though time knowing you can be so close to dx , although the waiting is awful too.
Could you say what SALT stand for? I'm a newbie on the forum and we are still in early stages with my ds possible ASD dx.
Thanks.

best wishes for the appointment tomorrow, I understand about the mixed feelings - that you want them to see the same problems you see - but then you want them to say everything's fine.

SALT is short for speech and language therapy.

Good luck!

Hope it gives you some clear answers.

good luck just think with a dx you will be entitled to so much more help that is needed and you will then know where you are

also you then lessen expectations on child i remember always wanting my ds to behave as others did and would get so frustrated and felt so relieved when i had my answers as i understood him and his needs so much better and changed how i was with him

good luck

Thank you for all your support.
Well what a let down. The paed we saw today was fab, turns out the paed we saw last time was crap (in my opinion), we have a few different paeds within clinic. The last one didn't do the referral to the ed psych, the person I thought was the ed psych was an education inclusion worker. I was so mad, the paed today was really lovely and said that if she could she would give dx as she is convinced ds2 has classic autism but due to our PCT she has to have a report from SALT and ed psych as well. Really feeling annoyed.
