how long does it take to get a wheelchair?

need one for dh. will phone adult care services on monday (kick me up the arse to remind me please!) for an assessment etc. who else should we contact?

i cant push him as will have 2 children with most of the time, so will need to be electric. does this make things harder?

When we wanted to borrow a wheelchair for DS we rang the red cross and they lend them out FREE!!!! or with donation.

In the end we didn't get it from them but give them a go.

My bil got one really quickly after he had a stroke but it wasn't electric. They never picked it up and its sitting, folded up and unused. Makes you wonder how much other stuff disappears and then isn't available for others.

red cross wont give him one he can power himself in case he puts too much pressure on his heart. i know when we go out we can use shopping centres mobility scooters, but he needs something for day to day use. how much does an basic electric one cost if SS cant help us. he is literally housebound.
