matress coming tommorow...not brave enough for bed yet.sockets are covered, staigate in situ at door, anything breakable removed but am worried that contents of wardrobe/drawers will be strewn everywhere.Should I remove it all for a bit? Takes deep breath!

Is your DD a climber? That has been our biggest issue. Also, we had a 2.5inch gap under the stairgate as per fitting instructions & DD managed to slither underneath. We had to fit a piece of wood to the bottom.

oh good luck!

when we took the plunge with dd1, we actually swapped her room as well (talk about overloading an ASD child!)

but in her old room, she had cupboards, bookshelves etc, and she wwas in a phase of just emptying everything at the time, and I couldn't face the clearing up each morning, with dd1 "helping" (ie just chucking it on the floor again )

so we swapped her and dd2 around (also meant we didn't have to dismantle the bastard cot and move it - double bonus!)

all dd1 has in her room now is a bookcase (mostly empty, occasionally has a few books in it), an armchair where we read stories, and her bed (plus loads of teddies).

It really works for her, as there are no distractions.

We had no issues from day one - she just settles down and goes to sleep (or sits on the windowsill singing for a while)
