Interact are a registered charity who provide inclusive performing arts workshops for children. The original aim was to set up regular weekly free drama/movement/music classes all over the country but funding means this isn't possible so to offer as many children as possible the opportunity they now hold a series of week long workshops in the school holidays.
This year workshops will be held in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Colchester, Croydon, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Jarrow, Leeds, Liverpool, Luton, Nottingham and Southampton. They are open to children aged 9 - 16 (19 if at a special school) and participants are a mixture of mainstream and special needs children.
I have been proveeged to watch Interact students perform and it was so moving. Because they have a qualified nurse on hand they can cater for almost every special need alongside mainstream children.
