after 3 years of being under the duty SW we finally have an allocated one... he came round today and is very nice and going back to discuss our Carer issues with his manager, and also discuss any extra support we need due to Dh's knees being so bad and me being the sole carer for 4 children (2 with disabilities) and DH

Thats excellent news! 3 years! About bloody time!

It will be great to have meetings with the carer and her social worker with someone who 'knows' us and not someone who just turns up on the day and has no idea what my kids disabilities are etc

fingers crossed he does a good job for you with respite etc
