Feeling fantastic actually.

DS got awarded DLA at middle rate for personal care and lower rate for getting around. Can't believe we got it with first application. Is there anything else I need to do or apply for now?

Now we just have to get through the assessment for his SEN statement. We have a diagnosis and DLA surely this should be a sure thing now.

I am sitting here crying actually because I am so happy things are moving along for him. I was able to go on Amazon and order two books re ASD that have been recommended by people in here because I know I have some money coming and can afford to do it now. Just a small thing but I feel so happy.

oh well done you can now apply for carers allowance that will e another 50.55 i think something like that a week

also seek out any sn groups they do therapies cheap for parents and children my ds enjoyed the music therapies

we are at statement process now just sent back my proposed statement i want it changed as isn't enough in regards of his ASD so by the time you go through yours i should have mine back so i can let you know what we have and what to do

cant remember too much info about your ds im afraid age verbal or not

but sn groups can really push you in right direction

and well done again xx

This is me here, used to be ALMummy.

Since then we have had a diagnosis of HFA. He has one to one at school. This comes out of the schools budget though and that cannot continue indefinitely so we need the statement. Also has SALT and OT.

I have managed to get him into an autism group over the school holidays but the demand is so great that you can only attend for 8 weeks at a time and them someone else gets a turn. Even though we are in London there does not seem to be that many groups for SN kids.
