From DS1 (hes almost 17y) my brain is melting, and i could probably win mastermind with the utter crap knowledge that i have gained about bayblades... do you reckon this could be considered an obsession special interest?

PS it just felt plain mean saying "for the love of god and my sanity, will you for pitys sake shut the F* up???" so i stuck it out...

.....similar here!

Just substitute a (nearly) 12 year old for 17, and the novels of Terry Pratchett for beyblades and our days could be interchanged.

...he is ginger, too. Poor soul.....

Much sympathy. In an "Obsessions" edition of Mastermind I'd have a good chance of winning with "Pokemon" or "The aliens of Star Wars".

I'll see your Bayblades and raise you an overenthusiatic Wall-e lover

misscutandstick · 10/05/2009 07:14

I'll call.

Ive got a flush of "beyblades", Doc Who (9th 10th, pokemon and Red Dwarf. but thats my lot.

What is it with pokemon??? DS1 has been obsessed interested since he was around 6 (i think), and over the years took DS2 and DS3 down with him!

He cant manage his alphabet in full yet , but could name 20pokemon with the evolution names and fighting skills (told you id had many years...) whilst half asleep!

I feel your Pokemon pain. Ds1 plays Pokemon games on the DS and there's always a running commentary on which ones he's caught, which gym badges he has, and who evolves into what.

Obviously a double explosion. I must be Zaphod Beeble-wotsit in disguise.

Anyone else profoundly irritated by that Pokemon word "evulsion" as in the second evulsion of pokemon A is called B etc. I cringe everytime i hear the DS's say it. I think i have got off fairly lightly, mine have all the usual geeky boy interests but are not totally obbsessed with any one thing; DS2 only cried for about 5mins when i accidentally put his best Pokemon cards through the washing machine.

more than words can describe wiggly!

wigglybeezer · 11/05/2009 16:18

I've given up correcting them.

misscutandstick · 11/05/2009 17:37

I gave up all rational thought! I was near losing the will to live.

ds2 obsession love is aythng to do with army & war.
I constantly have bombs blowing off in the background.

BriocheDoree · 11/05/2009 18:02

DD doesn't talk well enough to bore me to tears (yet) but she is currently going round wearing 5 princess dresses, one on top of the other, and I've NO IDEA how to persuade her it's bath time!
MissC, hope your brain has unfried now. That sounds pretty tough!
