at the very beginning of the nightmare - wrote and asked for initial assessment, got the pink and yellow forms to complete...

errm, who has to organise reports? you know from teacher and ed psych? is it me or 'them'?

Admittedly only briefly had a glance thru the pack 'they' sent, got it yesterday and it was hectic, it probably says in there somewhere in jargon, but you guys are brill and easier to understand. XXX

you should ask to go on ecap again, you can self refer i think so id try again, keep trying til they listen. when i lived in worksop (until ben was 20 months) we saw a salt as ben had made no sounds other than crying until he was 14 months then was only babbling slightly nothing at all word like, the salt at 18 months told me there was no chance he is autistic i just needed to try harder!!! well we moved house and not long after got referral to paed and an autism diagnosis just after 2yrs old! we found ecap pretty good, until recently my ecap worker was great, shes turned a bit useless this last 6 months or so, but when youre on ecpa you get a more specialist salt who knows more about autism - much better in my experience! if it was me i would keep harrassing them til they agree to put your ds on it!

Hi

I haven't read all of this but you MUST make the forms sound as bleak as possible. The thing you are raising is the deep gaping chasm between your child and their peers to justify getting the statement.

I work in SEN. If there is any way I can help you with the language or wording let me know. I've managed to get extra funding for two kids this year (tee hee).
