Hooray!!! I got my family fund award through today.

i have been awarded £400 towards doing up my garden, and £550 for a haven holiday. i have booked my holiday (the first in 5 years) and we are going to doniford bay from 11th to 18th sept. i applied a couple days after xmas, so its taken ages but was well worth it in the end.

it couldnt have come at a more welcome time, i am having major problems with ds2's sleeping right now, so a holiday is the perfect thing to look forward to. am going to save up the dla until we go, so i will have enough cash so we can eat out each night to save me cooking!

I heard from them yesterday, less than a week after applying online and have been awarded £500 towards a washing machine and 5 years warranty.

I was really surprised on the quick decision, not sure if it is because I have applied before?

I think that it just takes longer for first time applicants.
