this is the support thread away from the other as its negativity is becoming quite damaging

thought i would steer away from the other thread as its becoming negative

anyway attitudes have changed and we should continue supporting each other without hearing them words

my ds says he has aution and nunny is happy i think that speaks volumes we have struggles it s harder some days than others

but most of all my ds is a joy and i love watching him progress even the smallest thing is huge to me

so sending virtual hugs to all needing one and lets just start another thread and continue supporting each other

oh another break through for ds he is no longer afraid of the bath he had 2 in one day the other day and every day he wants to soak in the tub hooray for him lol

Oh Amber, I'm so sorry that people have treated you so unkindly. They are just so utterly ignorant and shallow, and are the ones missing out on meeting and knowing you.

Please try not to take this to heart, imho that poem represents an extremist view - hopefully the misguided opinion of a few, rather than of the majority.

And Magso, bless your ds, that is so sweet! I bet you're really proud of him.

Yep! Proud as punch of ds and how he has coped over the last few weeks! He volunteered to carry the shopping yesterday 'to save my energy' - he usually has a strop if asked to help as his 'arms hurt'!
Thanks Tc am feeling better (and news so far is good!!)

Amber I am so sorry you have been hurt.

well my DS last night took 5 boys to the yu-gi-oh club.

we started to take him when he was out of school for 2 years, his socialisation has come on in leaps and bounds and he now has his own fan club and he even gave one of his mates a couple of cards because his card deck was "crap" (in DS words!!!)

im so pleased he has his mates and they all knock on and sit in our garden playing cards,i wouldnt have thought that possible 3 years ago

oh and he had a boy from his school for tea at the weekend, this boy doesnt socialise a lot or talk a lot and has to have his own food,he came here and ate mcdonalds with DS and even played football with another couple of DS mates, im feeling really proud of him
