after 2 months of them trying to get us to discuss their blaming DD,s lack of toileting on us "not playing enough with her", we have a meeting with them tomorrow to discuss where we go from here.

as some of you may recall DD was assessed in 2006 by the CDC and said to be showing evidence of an ASD,she was dx,d a year later and it was withdrawn after our LEA complained thru their principal ed psych who said there were no signs.

so we have now been under CAMHS for a year who are supposed to be assessing her,but they havent and have concentrated on her toileting, subsequently blaming us,so we wrote and asked why we and dd were not being treated the same as other parents/children in the borough and the head consultant at camhs has called us in tomorrow.

im taking 3 vidoes of her behaviour and a diary and we shall see what they have to say, DD has been dx,d privately and we want CAMHS to do a thorough assessment of her.

please send us positive vibes,as this has been going on for 3 years now,oh and DD is 5 tomorrow and it would be the icing on the cake to get some positive news especially as she has been school refusing.

well off to camhs in a while, feeling nervous, but we are going to stand our ground and insist that the assessment is completed and ask for an ADOS.

Good luck - they have really put you through the mill so I hope you get somewhere.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you and will look back later to see how it went.

well it went good, the psych who blamed dd,s lack of toileting on our parental skills was there with the head consultant, the younger psych didnt speak to us till nearly the end.

we were asked 100s of questions about dd,and i felt that it was a proper parental assessment of a child with an asd, things like does she pull faces, social skills, interaction etc

everything we said she nodded her head and said yes, she said that things are "clearer now" as DD is a year older, (well things were bloody clear 3 years ago when she had the CDC assessment but never mind).

They are both going into dd,s school to assess her, then they want to see her back in clinic for an hour then they will see us the following week to give us the results.

i voiced my concerns about the time dd is having off school as she is 5 today and i dont want any stick of the EWO,s and she said put them straight on to me if you get any.
as we were leaving the consultant told us everything is clearer now,so we came away feeling more positive and maybe just maybe dd will get the dx and subsequent help she needs/deserves in school.

they didnt mention the ADOS,in our borough they only tend to do that when the dx isnt very clear, they did it with DS because they were all arguing amongst themselves whether or not he had ASD, as it was he passed the ADOS with flying colours as hes a the very high functioning end.

if they come back and say (heaven forbid cos i wont be responsible for my actions) she doesnt have a PDD then we will push for it.

ive had an email off the headteacher, asking for permission to get the Ed Psych in to see DD,i nearly fell off my chair!!!

he also wants to arrange a multi agency meeting and he wants to invite our private psych as well, finally things are starting to happen.
