Had to 'try' to explain autism to ds2 after we watched The Unexpected Journey

It's a beautiful movie about a single mother's struggle to bring up her high functioning autistic twin sons.
DS2 (8) watched it with me last week and had lots of questions which I tried to answer. DS1 is 11 and even he didn't know much about autism so he was interested too. There are at least 3 autistic males in our family but they are all so different to each other in the severity. Plus ds2 doesn't see them very often. One of them wasn't diagnosed as he's older than me (40s) and maybe it wasn't so easily diagnosed then?

Zac Efron plays one of the twin boys and he is really fantastic. I didn't realise it was him until it suddenly struck me days later.

Was that on thuseday, caught the last minute or two of it. ds1 watched it an his grans. I have just been looking for it on dvd and you can only buy it in spanish. Was it good.

I've never heard of that film. Sounds like something I would like to watch.

I can't remember what day it was? I agree I thought it would be awful but had me crying (in a good way)
