My DS, as previously posted, has delayed echolalia some of the time (usually its repeated completely in context) and up until what I knew it was we used to try and stop him doing it. Have since learnt its pointless and have given up but DD hasn't quite got the hang of letting it go yet.

DS would start his echolalia off (usually copied from TV prog 'Me Too' or 'Something Special') and we would say to him "Who says that DS?" He would reply "Me Too". We would say "Do you copy off the TV?" His reply "No, use DS's words"....

So! Today DD starts singing one of DS's fave songs from 'Me Too' and DS chirps up "DD - who says that?" DD looks sheepish..."Erm...Me Too" DS says "Do we copy from the TV???" DD doesn't reply... DS says "No! Use DD's words!" WAS PMSL!!!

Look on his face was so chuffed that he was able to pull someone else up for repeating something!! Gotta laugh!
