Was wondering about using it with my 4.5 year old asd son to move his language on a bit. But tis very expensive and has to be ordered from America so wondered if anyone had used it/found it useful.

I haven't used it personally but know quite a number of people who have. It is (was?) very popular in ABA circles. It has a very good reputation, I've never heard anything bad about it but can't be specific. Could find out more for you if you want.

If it is convenient for you to do so that would be great. It costs over £100 with the worksheets so want to know a bit more before buying. Ds is verbal but I feel he has stalled a bit and I think this programme is a structured way to develop more complex language.
Thanks

Hi, I've got it and use it for work, and would be happy to copy a few pages and send it to you to have look, ( should be ok with copyright if its only a few pages)

FYI i got my copy for £49 on amazon, it sometimes comes up that price!!

let me know

nikos · 15/04/2009 16:28

That would be fabulous. It is currently 115 on amazon. If you CAT me I can give you my address.
To give you an idea what I'm looking for,ds is 4.5 and has quite good expressive language (he has HFA) but his language is quite factual 'We are going to the beach today' 'There's a bus' 'I don't want ...for tea' and I would like to help him enrich his language. So I suppose descriptive language and emotions and so on.
Have you found it useful at work?

Nikos, I have emailed my contacts for any advice or experience on using TML (very carefully worded and no personal info). I have also asked if anyone has or can get a second hand or cheap copy. Have you looked on Ebay? HTH

I mentioned it on a review on here. I bought it by mistake for ds1- it was way above his level, but for a child who is thinking/speaking in sentences it is good. Very clear and easy to use.

Sorry, I have been incomunicado a bit over the hols.

NEWS! I hope this might be of interest.

If you don't buy Blossomhill's copy, a friend of mine has a copy of Teach Me Language she is willing to sell. She hasn't said a price so, if you want to make an offer, I'll pass it on.

BH, I sent an email to a couple of EGroups I belong to, not really a website as such.

Another friend, who is an RDI consultant, suggests you take a look at RDI www.rdiconnect. com. She says that her daughter's language, social cognitive awareness, emotion sharing, problem solving etc. has changed dramatically as a result of using RDI for the past 4 years. If you want to purchase The RDI Book, that's advertised on the website, she will have copies for sale in the next couple of weeks. If you go directly to the Connection Center with shipping you will be paying close to £80 per book but my friend is hoping that, with the bulk order she has in place, the price will be nearer £25.

Sorry Davros, just seen this. Could you CAT me and I can make an offer? Do you know if she has the workbook and the textbook, or just the textbook?
Many,many thanks for your help.
