madnes

Do I need someone to really shove in my face the fact that people look at my little girly using her walking frame and think she would be better off dead?

all the same f-ing cliches as always, 'blessed' mums and their 'smiling' disabled offspring. AAAAARG .

5intheEgg · 09/04/2009 21:35

I hate these thread HBOB, I tend not to read them as a few of the people that post have such harsh and nasty opinions.

proudestmummyever · 09/04/2009 21:35

Sorry hve just saw the link you left...fuckers!!! That is shocking!!! So ths applies to my DS1 too? Cos he cant walk yet and wont til he is prob 4 or 5, bastards

2shoestrodonalltheeggs · 09/04/2009 21:36

I don't need to click
I know what you mean.
sadly not the first time I have seen crap like this on here.

Hangingbellyofbabylon · 09/04/2009 22:13

i know, it's shite. If anyone dared to post such stuff but the subject was race it would not (and should not of course) be allowed but cos it's about disability - who gives a flying fuck? I have seen that again and again on MN.

giraffesCantRunA10k · 09/04/2009 22:16

Sorry to but in, but am so sorry you have had to read such utter crap. I have had a shitty day and am indulging in chcolate and a very very naughty cigarette...feel free to join me.

Hangingbellyofbabylon · 09/04/2009 22:17

Hangingbellyofbabylon · 09/04/2009 22:19

ok, I'm defecting to facebook for a while to go water my fairy garden. feel better in the morning I hope.

OP posts:
TotalChaos · 09/04/2009 22:21

if that's not a euphemism for something rude it should be (watering fairy garden)

seriously - sorry you have been so upset recently on MN, that particularly comment is dismal. will report it.

2shoestrodonalltheeggs · 09/04/2009 22:22

have you got me on fb HB

5intheEgg · 09/04/2009 22:23

I was just thinking that TC

Try not to let it get to you HBOB, hope you feel better after some chocolate.

Hangingbellyofbabylon · 09/04/2009 22:24

yes 2shoes, have got you on facebook. the thing is, for all the crap here there are so many good things in the SN topic - it was someone here who gave me the info I needed to even get dd diagnosed and I love coming home to special needs and knowing we're all here (we are so chosen and special you know ). I'll be alright. Just another day hey?

OP posts:
2shoestrodonalltheeggs · 09/04/2009 22:28

oh poke me or something so I know who you are

madmouse · 09/04/2009 22:32

bad enough to prompt me to post on that thread. Don't get some people.

giraffesCantRunA10k · 09/04/2009 22:32

"water my fairy garden"

and

"poke me"

enjoy the fruit and nut...unless that has double meaning as well

HairyMaclary · 09/04/2009 22:48

Ahh, hanging belly, I feel your pain. For the first time today we had negative comments from other children about DS1's frame. Usually we just get, 'wow, cool!' or 'what's that for?' Both great! But today we were in a rougher part of town and a few 11ish year olds commented. I left it but now wish I hadn't. DS1 (just 4) heard, stopped, also didn't comment. AArgh! I'm wondering if it was due to the fact that we had his brand new 'ferrari' (red) wheelchair today, and that stands out more than the phil and teds.
Sorry rambling now... had a look at that thread again. Sticks, frames and wheelchairs is our life now and DS participates in everything. Everyone just puts these limits on him that really aren't there. sigh.

2shoestrodonalltheeggs · 09/04/2009 22:52

ds is 17 and has a freind who is in a wheelchair, she sound so cool(I want her wheelchair as it sound so cool) I am so glad that ds see's past the wheels(as do a lot of his mates) He could teach some of the dimwits on here a thing or too.(and yes he is a hoodie and metal head)

cyberseraphim · 10/04/2009 08:01

I found the thread too sad to go on reading - some of the posters sound as if they are in 'TeleTubbie Land' rather than in our world. Although I think Tinky Winky would have some more mature and considered views on life.

PheasantPlucker · 10/04/2009 08:33

I started reading that last night, gave up, and went to bed in disgust.

TotalChaos · 10/04/2009 08:46

got an e-mail dated 1:21 a.m(!)so MN HQ must have been up late last night, saying they had deleted the post.
