I am Suffolk / Cambs border so could manage Essex fine. I would prefer a weekday when the kids were at school.

Sorry took so long to turn up Phoenix! Great idea.

We're in Chelmsford and I would prefer a weekend as I work full time and DS1 is at School, so even if I took a day off he couldn't come.

Only problem with the Zoo is finding each other and there aren't really any big green areas there, although it is a fantastic zoo.

Green place sounds good if the weather is fine and would give people more flexibility re what time they turn up and how long they stay.

What about a soft play place? There's a wonderful indoor play area called Monkey Puzzle at Maldon Monkey Puzzle.

I suppose we could always have a plan A and a plan B.

I also Have English Heritage membership so if we go to an English Heritage place I can get 6 kids in for free.

Would weekends be any good for you?

Phoenix4725 · 08/04/2009 13:08

im easy which day and when , what about if we said colchester castlepark if weathers nice, ducks, cafe ,playpark, lots of aspaces for kids to run and playand picnics , though might be harder for anyone with a runner . or we could go to maldon prom which if remember is pretty nice to and has the splash park
and a indoor play area if looks wet theres 2 in colchester one which has height restrition of 4foot 7, dont know if yours be to tall fiofio and then theres go bananas which is up to approx 5 foot but there not dead strict has a area for tots and area for bigger kids plus cafe though can get busy

Maldon prom is lovely, DS1 loves it!

changename1 · 08/04/2009 17:28

all fab suggestions. Been to go bananas several times and castle park. not been to maldon pier for years so don't mind. Have ds who is 9 and dd who is 7 (CF, epilepsy, speech and language delay)

3mum · 08/04/2009 18:00

A meet up during the Summer hols would be great. Any of the places suggested are fine with me. I am about 10 miles from Colchester, but happy to travel. I have DS 11 asperger syndrome, DD8 and DS 6.

Phoenix4725 · 08/04/2009 20:19

only ideas how about if you all post dates that you can`t do the willnsit with calendar and bottle glass of wine work it out

OP posts:
anonandlikeit · 09/04/2009 12:27

can't do first 2 weeks of summer hols as hope to be away 20th July for 2 weeks.

Other than that any time any place.
I ahve ds2 who is 6 mild CP & ASD he is very mobile so no worries there, onl;y use w/chair for distance. Also have NT ds1 age9.

What about May half term?? Just another idea, sorry Phoenix!

Saker · 09/04/2009 12:36

I could possibly do 25th July depending on whether bil wants to visit. I don't live very near Colchester so don't know the places suggested. The only thing would be somewhere where it is reasonably easy to supervise the children so we can have a chance to chat. I don't know about everyone else but if I go to a soft play or playground with Ds2 I will need to spend the whole time with him, so won't really be able to actually meet any of you. (Can you tell I was the miserable one who suggested school time ).
