dd1 (8) said this evening, quite solemnly:
"Why do people always say 'take the mickey'? You only do it to (dd2 who has mic-key button) once a week"

Had a long chuckle!

but it's a good question. I've never understood why people would take a Mickey either. I've been known to respond to things like "Don't lose your head!" by saying "No, I've still got it, thanks" . Very illogical, NT folk, y'know

Am having a 'feel sorry for my self birthday' today...can do with a cheer up!

ds told me recently that he hates it when people say something like
'Can you(insert action here)?'
He said ' i never know if it's a question and i just need to say yes or no, or if i'm meant to be actually doing something!!'

Very confusing for him.

Yes we have to be very careful how we phrase things for Ds - or he will wash his hands in the toilet (not under the tap), clean his teeth(not brush them)and look for ants in his pants!

Walking home from school with dd1, dd1 walking in front of the pushchair (slowly) i say 'hurry up dd1 or i will go up your bottom' dd1 replies 'don't be stupid mummy, the pushchair won't fit up my bottom' .

For dinner i gave her fish finger, dd1 says she doesn't like them as last time they had brown bits in' so i told a little fib and said i had taken the brown bits out' 10 minutes later dd1 asked 'how did you get inside them to get the brown bits out?' i couldn't answer.

lol at the pushchair!
When dd2 (unable to weight bear) was about 4, ds was asked why she can't walk.
"Because she's only got slippers!" he answered triumphantly!

If only life was that simple...
