Impedance study results: what now? Gastro experts please!

DD (2.8) had an impedance study done to check for silent refluxand much to my surprise it has come back with, 'increased number of gas reflux episodes', 'increaed number of longstanding reflux episodes greater than 5 min' and in conclusion: 'abnormal acid reflux time'. Has anyone else's child had this result and does it mean they'll do a gastroscopy next (sticking the camera down her throat under sedation)? Or is it one of those tests that quite often gives this kind of resultit all depends on degrees?
We have an appt at GOSH on 14 April but I would like to be forewarned...

YES i think they may do gastroscopy and go other way to dd as had same also take a biopsy, dd has had a fundo due to this as the acid can damage the tubes and lots of other things, thats why they will do the tube test to see if theres damage now. good luck keep us imformed

That sounds invasive and scary, how did your DD (and you) cope with the tests? DD hated having the tube passed for the impedance test--although I suppose gastroscopy is done under sedation so that might make it a bit easier for her?

chloe had the tests done under genrel both tubes done at same time, and the biopsy, we coped as we had to she goes blue due to acid, when she came round was ok but sore. then fundo was booked as we got results only 3 months after.

3 months for the results? That sounds like far too long! We had to wait 2 months for the impedance study results; if I hadn't phoned to chase them up two or three times I suspect we would still be waiting. Were you at GOSH? Because we had to wait ages for results from a hearing test done under anaesthetic, too--I think their admin is pretty rubbish.
Turning blue sounds very frightening--what caused it?
