Anyone in Manchester Childrens Hospital area?

We have two appointments on Wednesday, one at 10am and the other at 2.45. As we live in Yorkshire we can't really come home in between so are looking for things to do.

Can anyone suggest a park or soft play area or anything really suitable for DD with GDD?

Many thanks in advance

if you are in the car - I'ld say at a rough guess it would be about 5 miles from the hospital to Heaton Park, which is a massive park with 2 playgrounds, duck lake and a (free!) farm.

btw am assuming the hospital is Pendlebury, not Booth Hall, Booth Hall would be nearer to Heaton Park.

or there is the museum of science and industry, at the edge of central manchester, which has it's own parking (you have to pay for unfortunately) but it has a good section for v young children on top floor of main building- with soft play/big blocks type section at back of kid's science section.

Thanks TC, I like both those suggestions. We're at North Manchester General in the morning but at Pendlebury in the afternoon so if it's good weather Heaton Park it is.
