Shoes and school and it's driving me mad!

I've had problems with DS all week regarding shoes and clothes.

Today was the worst. He got up at 6.30. I started helping him dress at 8 but I couldn't get him intro school until 9.30. I rang ahead in advance and warned them we would be late. it was all about socks and shoes.

DS had a different teacher today (it's his usual teacher but he has only been doing two days a week while covering for the head).

Teacher was ok about us being late but he comes out at the end of the day and says he has been devising a strategy with DS so it doesn't happen again.

He suggests we try getting his shoes out the night before!

Does he think I'm stupid? I told him he'd been up ages and we'd tried all shoes and socks in the house and that it took an hour and a half to dress him.

I'm sick of this. DH works miles away. I have to deal with DS and his 'issues' about clothes every morning with my moaning three year old in tow.

We've got a paed appointmnet Tuesday and I'm hoping someone will see what is going on!

Shall be keeping everything crossed for you for the appointment on Tuesday. DS needs someone to work out what's happening with him and the shoes thing, and I reckon it needs to be an expert to figure out exactly what the sensory problem is. You must want to scream after an hour and a half of this every day still...?

Usually he likes socks that have shrunk and are tight and quite firm. But the ones he wears all the time are from GAP and today he was screaming because he said he could feel the 'Baby GAP - 4-5 years' which is written on the bottom of them.

So he wouldn't put his boots on. I tried all the socks and all his shoes and eventually we found a pair where the wording had rubbed away.

Last weekend I was putting his socks in the freezer!

He wears them so tight, his feet get hot!

He probably can, y'know (feel the wording). Sounds like he's hit a bit where his brain is rewiring itself for extreme hypersensitivity to his feet, which isn't very convenient
Probably could do with some desensitising therapy to help it get past this bit...
