DLA, what would you say this means?

DD,s DLA runs out in 3 weeks, they have had my forms since Nov 08, and have been waiting for a report from her consultant which they have had for 3 weeks.

i phoned 2 weeks ago and was told it was with the decision maker,so i said what will happen about the car if i dont get the same rate and the lady said "i wouldnt worry about that" and i said really? and she said yes dont worry.

So yesterday i phoned and chased it and was told "dont worry they wont come and take the car off you or anything like that, you should hear something soon"

but surely they WILL if they dont renew it?

how does it work, if you dont get the same award is it just bye bye car ASAP?

just want to be prepared,i mean they shouldnt really take the HRM off her as she has hemiplegia and is a wheelchair user but ive heard of it happening before.

TIA

It sounds like a code for "you will get your renewal", but I don't know too much about DLA.

this could be rumour but I've heard that they tend to be really hard for the care component but quite 'generous' for the mobility aspect. I know a little one with hemi who can walk quite well but as she doesn't walk at the same speed and for the same distance as other children her age she still gets high rate. I can understand your worry about the car, we've just been awarded high rate for dd and we're looking at cars. Already I'm thinking about what will happen in 3 years time.. I hope you get it all sorted.

i think she new the decision yesterday and its in post waiting to come to you

yes HBOB thats DD to a tee,she can walk quite well but she gets very tired quickly and needs the wheelchair,so yes she doesnt walk at the same rate and speed as other children of her own age.

i sincerely hope she did know the decision, just need the brown envelope to drop onto the mat now!!!!
