DS1 has: gone up two groups in swimming
DS2 has: learnt to use a computer mouse
is continuing to use the toilet
chair, even when it's outside the
room he's in and has also used the
main loo a few times.
has learnt to put his own pants on!
has had a hair cut without
wriggling and screeching
has followed instructions from DS1
(normally I have to repeat them
before he 'tunes in'.)

Maybe it's something in the water?

Well done to your Ds's and to you of course as there's a great mother behind every great thing her children do .

Ah thanks Saker . But do you know, it's often the things I try the least with that they suddenly do! (Though DS1 and I have been working hard on the swimming I have to admit).

Yeah well done to both boys.

Can I have some of whatever your putting in the water

mumgoingcrazy · 08/03/2009 12:59

Well done your DS's. If you could send some of your water this way too that'd be great

Pride comes before a fall and all that...

I decided to put DS2 in pants at my parents' house today when we went over to cook Sunday lunch for my Dad's birthday. Took toilet chair with us and he used it fine, then suddenly disappeared into the dining room, where the table had been laid ready for lunch. My Dad went to find him a little while later and discovered a poo sitting neatly on his place mat.

Good job I have the parents I have...

It made me laugh too.

We have a superstition in our house that as soon as you mention anything that Ds2 is unexpectedly doing well or improved at that it will immediately regress! Sleep being the ultimate. If one of us dares breathe to the other that Ds2 "has been sleeping really well recently", you can guarantee that it will be the start of a week of broken nights. He has even been known to start shouting out from his bed just as I utter the very words.

"a poo sitting neatly on his place mat"
, sorry sphil, couldn't help laughing outloud!
Keep it up!!
DS1 was doing so well with his toilet training, and for the last week he has had several accidents, I have no idea why. grrrr

Absolutely agree with Saker. As soon as we start telling everyone how well he is:

  • sleeping
  • concentrating
  • using the toilet
  • behaving

I can guarantee he will stop doing the deed the following day. DH and I have decided NEVER to open our mouths again.
