ds2 pooing lots during day (not in toilet) how will school cope?

I thought I'd posted a message about this already but it's not appeared anywhere. Anyway ds2 has done this before but I think it was connected to his anti-epileptic meds, and this time he hasn't had any changes in meds plus is at a new school where they haven't had to deal with his poo much yet. Planning to go to GP today (or at least phone them to discuss it) as I think it might be encopresis which lots of mumsnetters seem to have experience with. Just wondered what help I might get from the school if they prescribe him laxatives or something to dissolve any 'stuck' poo, because inevitably there will be many more accidents and I selfishly don't really want to keep him at home until he's back to 'normal' (whatever that means in his case ).
