....until 2011..its a shock, because its there in black and white written down that dd4 has severe mental imparement, and severe behavioural problems. claim was put in on 15th jan, ...this has got to be a record ,was very very fast!

Thats great news, IYKWIM
Hope the money comes in handy

magso · 17/02/2009 13:39

That's quick ours - took 4 weeks too.
I didn't know how to feel either pleased and sad in one emotion! (I was also mad at myself for not applying sooner all those years of struggling alone!)

lou031205 · 17/02/2009 13:43

drlove great that you get the recognition of your daughter's needs, and given for a couple of years, too.

drlove8 · 17/02/2009 13:43

im having a bit of both, sad and happy. sad that she needs it in the first place, but happy she's getting it.... it means we can get her extra salt and more sensory stuff to stimulate her! . was really shocked as shes only 3 and shes got high rate for both parts!, i thought she had to be 5 to get that?.

No, she can only get high rate at 3, but could get high or low for mobility at 5.

Phoenix4725 · 17/02/2009 14:14

we have it for ds from 3 both parts to and its a relief enables me to buy and do the extra things he needs

alfiemama · 17/02/2009 15:21

Well done drlove8 - well deserved. It's such a tramatic thing to even have to fill in the DLA form in the first place. We're waiting on our DLA renewal which went in mid jan too so hoping we might find out soon..

Hi Drlove8. He's stopped you know whatting today, thank god. The yoghurt has worked a treat, funny thing is he keeps saying, do I not need my medicine now, "no course you dont sweetie" (bad mummy).

The only thing we have noticed are his meltdowns are getting more aggressive than usual. But I suppose when we are bunged up we are not on full form.

PS do you want to fill my forms in next time

drlove8 · 17/02/2009 21:09

thats strange ,dd4's meltdowns get worse when she's unwell too!....i got friend to help me with mine as i was struggling a bit with it,...she's expert form filler as she is a mental health nurse and does them for her patients(shhh, dont tell) all she charges is a decent cuppa and a jaffa cake! lol

drlove8 · 17/02/2009 21:42

After 8 kids I'd have used two bricks and a bottle of dettol

Bigpants1 · 17/02/2009 23:11

OMG-someone with more kids than me- ive got 6-still have no idea how these children keep appearing.we have two sons with SN and are looking into motorbility scheme also after successful DLA applic.so far, we have only found one 8-seater car otherwise, think it will have to be mini-bus. husband not keen on mimni-bus-doesnt want to be centre of attention wherever we go. like were not already-bit like the Waltons, only not nearly as nice.happy vechile hunting.(ps, perhaps you could use some of DLA to buy a home-made vastecomy kit-brings tears to your eyes).

drlove8 · 17/02/2009 23:49

i defo want a mini-bus , and i want it pimped up to look like the scooby-doo van!,(disclaimer, DH has actually had the snip last summer!, no bricks required).got the waltons- thing going on here too, it goes night k, night d, night a, night rm, night r, night a, night e, and night k,(to witch she replies, night nightnight night night night night night night night night night aaaaaarrrrrgggghhhh ssqquueeeell ssqquueeeek night night! lol ... ah -the joys!

Wow I can't believe how many children you all have, very impressed. I get looks when I say I have 3 children. If I could I would like one more, but I don't think it will happen as need to wait afew more years so that I can manage DD and baby on my own again, when the boys are bigger.
