Good news for the Peachy family! (no not another baby- no chance LOL)

DS4 is pointing.

I know its not a given but it's an indicator.

I doa dore the asd duo but obv don't want my boys lives any ahrder than needs be.

sixspot my ds3 did a regressiona lso but I dont know, 'd be surprised- but who knows.

Wipes out some of the AS risk though

sorry new on here so dont know many people how old is ds4 and what does it mean if they start pointing. ds1 is 2.5 and started pointing in dec.

actually, my DS5 regressed after pointing too - BUT he also reached ALL his basic milestones late too, and had sensory problems from birth...

so fingers crossed for your DS. [fingers crossed emoticon]

ds3 walkd late actually, but not all kids who regress do I know.

ds4 took first steps at 9 months (OK 2 weeks ago LOL) whioch ismore like ds1 but without the lack of eye contact / distance / no pointing we got from him iyswim.

We celebrate what we can LOL, if he regresses anyway so be it. Better to enjoy than worry.

HH ds4 is 9 months, I have 4 kids 2 of whom are autistic and not pointing can be an indicator of that.

sorry peachy just rereading post didnt say well done to ds4 apologies to you and ds4 ds2 has stinking cold and big front tooth coming through so up during night and not with it at all.

That is such a good sign .
My as ds1 can't really manage a point now at 6 yrs - more of a flap! I was thrilledf when my twins started pointing at each other when they were babies.

ds1 as/ hfa has to be talked through a point at 9 'look along my arms.... now in a straight line...'. It's a skill he needs I think but I douubt it will ever be automatic.

Peachy if your DS3 followed a similar trajectory to my DS3, then chances are you will know by now if DS4 is different - so it sounds as if you have good reason to celebrate!

With my DS3, I was very delighted that he was pointing, playing peek-a-boo, clapping, kissing me etc because these were all things that DS1 didn't do at 12 months. But I think I deliberately closed my eyes to the fact that teh quality of all these things was subtly different to when DS2 (my neurotypical) did them. IYSWIM?
