Transport called and said they cant make it to pick ds2 up for school today because of the snow, I could cry. Its been a really horrible weekend with him (actually a really bad 2 weeks) and I was looking forward to having 3 hours peace

Anybody else with DC off because of the snow?

dd1 was off today, and took it better than I expected. Probably because dh was off as well, so I reckon she just thought it was an extra weekend day

we introduced her to snow this afternoon, when we made a snowman. She loved it - dancing around the crumbling blobsnowman dh & I were building singing "this is the way we build a snowman" and clambering over piles of snow (we had about 15 inches )

we had to strap dd2 into the buggy as we kept losing her in mounds of snow (she's nearly 2, and tiny, so easy to lose )

dd1's school is closed tomorrow too, and might reopen wednesday, but unlikely...

I listened to the radio intently this morning from 7 am (live in Nyorks), a few schools closed, but all the main contenders, not a whisper from. Left getting DS dressed till the last minute, and just as we were walking out of the door (literally), the announcement came.... we were closed. The only one in the immediate area to close apart from the high school. I was miffed to say the least! (A temporary head teacher you see, we wouldn't have has this with the old one..... we got to know by at least 8am in Dec lol)

So quick change it was, and then out in the snow at 8.30AM....., there was no way Minonova was letting me off with that lol. Took some lovely pics though, which makes up for it lol.

Spent most of the day playing computer games, but did go out for lunch, and read his reading book twice wahoo!

Diarrhoea and sickness has hit this evening, only one episode of each though fingers crossed... Maybe it was something he has eaten.

not looking good for school tomorrow and will have to keep him off anyway due to sicky rule.

wish me luck for a quiet night xx

Ds school has another 'snow day' today and he is delighted! (it helps to give it a different name but dh has gone to work and ds is confused as to why dh doesnt have a snow day!) County pulled transport forcing all sn to close - probably as well. So more building snow castles today! It has at last stopped snowing. We have about 9 inches still sitting!

No snow day for us here today - but Head was promising 'playing in the snow' to all the long faced children trooping in. DH took DS1 sledging up and down our road this morning - we're making the most of our two inches!
