Just been reminising with photo's...

from a while ago. Actually it was June 07, is that 19mths?

DS1 is almost man shaped now (hes 16), DS2 is growing up fast too at 11y (starting to broaden a little).DS3 is taller by half! DS4 has lost his toddler face, and hes a little boy now at 3.9y.

DS5... now theres a poke in the eye. He hasnt changed one bit, not a tad, not one jot. Hes 2.8y ATM - the pic that cant be distinguised as 19mths ago, he was 14mths. ... he has GDD, but would that delay his looks too?

anyone know?

Ds face changed most with the arrival of the side teeth. However he has an unusually small jaw so they helped to fill his face out.
Is the facial appearance that does not seem to have changed much?

DS (language delay) is still very "baby faced" given his age. I would imagine it's a coincidence.

I wonder if facial muscles involved in speech affect appearance. ds also was also babyfaced relative to others (also language and gdd)

DS's speech sounds have always been fine though, so would have thought there was no muscular problem. Did your DS have pronunciation problems Magso?

Yes he had few consonant sounds until about 5 or 6- though at 9 his speech is more disordered than unclear now. Mainly he had receptive language delay.

Dunno, my DD always look older than her age, tall too. People always think she's 6 and she's only 4.5. Not good when you can't talk well! Had to intervene at the playpark a couple of times when older kids were teasing her. Now they all know her and her classmates stick up for her!

Isn't DS5 fussy about food and/or allergic? If he's underweight then I guess he wouldn't have had baby chubbiness to lose...?

Hmm, i suppose he is still babyfaced - i just thought that it was really odd that in 14mths he hadnt changed at all - usually children change from day to day!

Chubiness - no he doesnt have any you are right brioche, he is quite round faced, but doesnt have those 'hamster' cheeks.

Teeth - he has all his teeth, as spotted by dentist magso, so its not that either.

Muscles - thats a possibiltiy i suppose, the SALT thinks there is deffinately an element of oral dyspraxia - but she also said that if it was only a muscular problem then usually its visible in the face, and he looks fine (no taughtness, or sagging). Oh he doesnt dribble or choke too much, but doesnt chew.

maybe he will be thankful when hes 45 and is still asked for ID!!!!

forgot to add, strangely doesnt seem to be able to stick his tongue out but can suck on a straw, but cant blow out candles.
