Ask for it to be looked at again yes, ds3 went from refuse to higer rate (ASD).

DS1 (AS / HFA) gets higher rate care, low mobility but we have a letter from PAed saying he needs 24 / 7 care due to his aggression which is true.

We got middle rate care and low rate mobility for DS (age 5, HFA). Took about 8 weeks. I was expecting to fight so this was a pleasant surprise.

I posted mine on new years day and it came back today. It went to the blackpool office. I think they can write to people for reports which must slow it down alot if they need to do this.

First time of applying we heard back within two weeks. This time they got back to us last week (middle rate care and low mobility granted now) so it was roughly 10 or 11 weeks.

streakybacon · 19/01/2009 15:41

We got it but after reconsideration. It was before dx too.

daisy5678 · 19/01/2009 19:19

J is HFA & ADHD - got middle care from 3, then also low mobility at 5, is now on high rate for both after a 1.5 year renewal-pants rate - reconsideration-refusal-reconsideration - pants rate - reconsideration and then tribunal!

I can't wait until the back payment...

First time we applied took about 8 weeks. They wrote to the school for a report, so that may have slowed things a little. DD has no dx but we got middle rate care and lower rate mobility. Have just had to reapply, we posted back on Boxing day and are still waiting to hear. Fingers crossed!
