the kids r supposed to be back in school today.

dd has her 4th UTI in 6 weeks,raging temp and vomiting and cant go in till weds at the earliest.

dh has just lost his job.

the woman at income support couldnt understand why we should be entitled to IS when we are carers and get DLA. she transferred me and put the phone down.

and ive got cabin fever and feeling sorry for myself. itll pass!!!

might be wrong and everyones circumstances are different but i think the carers wipes out most, if not all, of the income support?

im a single parent so got the lone parent premium and carers premium added to my claim but carers along with child maintenance from xp put me over the amount for income support so i was better off not claiming it as i got the whole amount of xp's payment instead of csa and could still claim housing and council tax benefit anyway. very confusing sustem really.

my ds back to school tomorrow hopefully....not a day too soon

well finally got thru to someone who knos what they are talking about and they are sending me the forms, we are entitled to IS but not much but it means we qualify for rent and council tax so feeling happier now.

oh and i forgot to add that i have sinusitis and am on some meds thats making me feel very very strange, probably why im ranting haha

oh good, at least the money side is coming together. hope you and DD feel better soon.

As you know, the important part of IS is the attached benefits- free prescriptions, school meals, HB, etc etc. Those are the bts that make life doable.

well the docs just phoned with the results of DD,s UTI, she has one which is resistant to the ABs theyve been giving her so shes on another 10 day course now.

Jenk, hope the IS gets sorted, and I hope your dd is better soon on the new ABs xx

Sorry you are having a rough time at the moment. Hope new AB start working now. And sorry to hear about DH, hopefully the IS and extra benefits relieve some of the stress for you.

sorry your having a tough time and as for is i get £6 but it help pays intrest on my morgage and other things so i would even if its £1

DD is currently at the GP,s with DH,2 hours ago they told us to strip her,put the fan on and open the windows and give her calpol/ibuprofen,we did all that and her temp shot up to 40.2 and she vomited all the medicines up,so he phoned GP who said bring her down and im prob going to send her to hospital,so just waiting for the call now.

it never ends,poor DD when are they going to sort her UTI,s out?

Jenk I know probably not the best time to ask this with everything going on, but when DD is sick with a high temperature. Does she sometimes have no other symptoms?

sometimes she has other symptoms and will tell us for instance her stomach hurts sometimes not,its 99% of the time a UTI with her tho.

well the GP examined her and her temp was still 40, but as she was ok in herself he told DH to bring her back home and continue doing what we have,her temp is now 38.6 which is still high but has come down significantly and she is flaked out on the sofa.

Oh bloody hell. It all sounds horrendous. Poor all of you, esp DD. What an awful start to the year . Hope she is OK and you get some good luck soon xx
