Hello all.

Ive not been on for a while, not sure why Hope everyone had a good festive time!!

I wrote a little ago about what people thought about applying for a job as a social worker for children with disabilities when I have a severely disabled ds myself- wondered whether it would be a bit of a busmans holiday....?!?!?!? Well, went for job and got it and after long consideration going to accept. i am now excited about it we'll see how long that lasts.

On a less positive note I have lost a £695 advance payment on a motability car as the company went into administration the day before I was due to collect car so very about that......told I will not see it again but I wont let hat stop me trying

feelingbitfestive · 29/12/2008 14:46

Congratulations on your job, but sorry about the car.

glitteryb6 · 29/12/2008 20:00

thats shocking that motability wont help out, you have a contract with them and although it doesnt go "live" until you put in your motability pin number they shouldnt be allowed to shirk the responsibility of a dealer who is after all working on their behalf!

I know glittery, it has made me very very angry. motability rave about their customer satisfaction and in my case they have been very unhelpful.

That was the whole thing, I wasnt actually a motability customer as I hadnt collected the car yet....madness

I wont give up though.....

quite right, i'd fight that one all the way, "not a motability customer" its not like they werent aware of you if they'd already sent out paperwork, sounds like they're chancing their arm to me! they SHOULD refund, at least as a gesture of goodwill!

tipsycat · 30/12/2008 13:17

How did you pay the deposit? If by credit card, you can claim it back via the credit card company. Same thing happened to us this year but we got the money back through the credit card. Good luck with the new job!

lourobert · 30/12/2008 14:33

It was by cheque as I dont have a credit card.....! motability assure me that they are looking into it ( I will call them again in next few days just to make sure )

Citreon motability dept have been much more helpful. They arranged another car for me until everything gets sorted but they say they doubt they can help with the advance payment situation.

Not that i would go to them but the papers would love a story from this.....
