too much change in routine for DS2, too many unexpected guests, too much stimulation, too much spontaneity. Today he is JUST calming down and it will all start again later on although we are better prepared and he KNOWS what is happening (going to PIL for tea)

I struggle at this time of year for all kinds of reasons anyway so it has been stressful to say the least!!

Bring on Wednesday when the tree comes down, the presents go away and we can get back to our normal.

(i am NOT a miser/scrooge/whatever, i am just stressed!)

I have taken everything down today because dd1 (who is 4.3) just didnt understand that Christmas is finished (as in DH back at work and we're back to normal routine etc) kept questioning why tree etc was up so I took it down and all in teh loft now, also its dd2 2nd birthday a week on monday so nice to have the house relatively normal for a week before birthday balloon and banners go up!

I would take it all down, it is a visual sign that normality is back and as such is reassurence.
